Egg Farmers of New Brunswick commemorated their 51.5 Anniversary, a delayed celebration of their 50th anniversary that fell during COVID, by showing their appreciation and support for local through a donation of $51,500 to the Food Depot Alimentaire.
A registered, non-profit charitable organization that serves food banks, community kitchens, school programs and other supportive agencies across New Brunswick, the Food Depot Alimentaire works tirelessly to ensure everyone has access to food security.
We are all aware of the importance of nutritious, high-quality food, such as eggs, and this $51,500 commitment will give support to the Food Depot Alimentaire over 5 years allowing them to continue their ongoing assistance to those in need.
“Thank you, Egg Farmers of New Brunswick for this generous donation,” said the Executive Director of Food Depot Alimentaire, Stephane Sirois. “Food Depot Alimentaire supports 64 food banks and community kitchens across the province. They’ve all seen an increase of 30% in client visits since the beginning of 2022. With a recession on the horizon, we anticipate the need will keep increasing in 2023. [This] contribution will help us support this increasing demand and make sure no one goes hungry in New Brunswick.’’
